Ohio Department of Education
The Ohio Department of Education is a state agency that serves as a catalyst for transforming Ohio's public education system. The ODE Web site is the most comprehensive source of information about Ohio's education system. A fine arts page includes:
- A roster of Committee for Arts and Innovative Thinking (CAIT) members
- A Fine Arts Tool Kit to assist in finding model lessons by arts content area and grade level
- Procedures for identifying students who are gifted in the visual and performing arts

Ohio Alliance for Arts Education
The Ohio Alliance for Arts Education advocates for quality arts education in Ohio. In addition to finding out about professional development and arts advocacy projects and events, the site is your first step toward subscribing to weekly e-mail updates that will keep you informed about legislation and policy decisions that affect arts education.
Ohio Arts Council
The Ohio Arts Council is a state agency that funds and supports quality arts experiences to strengthen Ohio communities culturally, educationally and economically. With funds from the Ohio Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts, the OAC provides financial assistance to artists and arts organizations. National Arts Learning Resources
Arts Education Partnership
The Arts Education Partnership provides information and communication about current and emerging arts education policies, issues, and activities at the national, state, and local levels. The AEP holds regular forums throughout the country to examine important research and issues in arts education. This site also provides downloads for Critical Links, Arts Integration Frameworks, Research & Practice: A Literature Review and Third Space: Where Learning Matters, three important publications about arts education research.
The National Endowment for the Arts
The National Endowment for the Arts is a public agency dedicated to supporting excellence in the arts, both new and established; bringing the arts to all Americans; and providing leadership in arts education. The NEA site includes links to information on research that underscores the public value of the arts and educational resources created through three outstanding programs: Poetry Out Loud, Jazz in the Schools, and The Big Read.
Americans for the Arts
Americans for the Arts is dedicated to representing and serving local communities and creating opportunities for every American to participate in and appreciate all forms of the arts. Web site includes public service announcements and other advocacy materials, as well as important information on research, policy and funding sources relevant to arts learning programs.
National Assembly of State Arts Agencies
The National Assembly of State Arts Agencies (NASAA) is the membership organization that unites, represents and serves the nation's state and jurisdictional arts agencies. The Web site features publications about arts research and advocacy and tool kits for arts and arts education leaders.

Harvard Project Zero
Project Zero is an educational research group at the Graduate School of Education at Harvard University. Project Zero's mission is to understand and enhance learning, thinking, and creativity in the arts, as well as humanistic and scientific disciplines, at the individual and institutional levels. Web site contains links to a number of research projects related to arts learning.
Center for Educator Development in Fine Arts
The Center for Educator Development in Fine Arts (CEDFA) promotes student achievement by providing professional development opportunities based on state and national standards in art, dance, music, and theatre. Select "Strengthen Fine Arts Programs" then "Program Support" to search for studies suggesting links between arts learning and other achievement areas. You can search by arts disciplines and subject areas.
American Music Conference
